We went to the Cody Cattle Company our very first night in Wyoming and we loved everything about it. First, the food was really good--it tasted homemade and not like... read more they were just feeding the masses. The music was lively and fun and they were truly entertaining! We enjoyed the family we met and sat with at our table--it was fun to meet new people! We also really liked the gift shop--they had some beautiful jewelry handmade by a local resident that we bought to bring home. We bought a couple of CDs, of the band's music, too! This was a perfect start to our western vacation!
Visiting Yellowstone for the first time with the family, and we took a day out to explore around Cody. I found the Cody Cattle Company on a web search and... read more thought it would be a unique experience. Turned out to be a great decision ... this was one of the highlights of our vacation. The kids all voted thumbs way up!
We had no idea what to expect when we arrived. When we called for reservations earlier in the day, they told us we'd have great seats because of the smaller mid-week crowd. From what I could see, every one of the staff members was friendly and helpful and wearing a smile. The hostess introduced us to Ryan, who greeted us and showed us to our seats. They weren't kidding about he good seats ... we were seated in the first row.
Once we were seated, Ryan asked the kids if they might be willing to help with a part of the show later on. I felt bad for Ryan ... our kids are extremely shy, so there was no way they were going to be talked into getting on stage.
Dinner was very good. It's a buffet-style meal so we're not talking gourmet cuisine, but it's not supposed to be ... just good food and plenty of it. The brisket was delicious, very tender. Dinner service was very fast and efficient. Ryan handled most of the announcements and instruction from the stage. The wait staff was very quick to clear empty plates. Ryan came by multiple times to refill our glasses and see if perhaps the kids had changed their minds about helping in the show. No luck.
When it came time for the show to start, we were surprised to see Ryan, our waiter, walk out and pick up a guitar ... "Hey, cool, he's in the band!" A few seconds later, he started belting out a song ... "Wait a second, he's the leader of the band!" Never occurred to us that Ryan, our waiter, was Ryan Martin ... of "Ryan Martin and the Triple C Cowboy" band. So awesome that he's there greeting customers, talking to the kids, filling glasses, and leading the show!
The performance was great ... a lot of fun. Ryan is very talented on the guitar and we enjoyed the show from start to finish. He even found a clever way to get our middle daughter into the show. We all left the show with big smiles and great memories. Highly recommend the Cody Cattle Company!
